The 8th annual meeting of the research group (GdR) "Géométrie stochastique" takes place at Avignon University in 2019. The GdR aims to bring together researchers who study spatial random models from a theoretical or applied perspective. The GdR has members from various disciplines such as probability, statistics, geometry, ergodic theory, image analysis, algorithmics and astrophysics.  This year, a special session is organized in honor of  Christian Lantuéjoul (MinesParisTech). It will take place in the afternoon of Thursday June 20th.

 In the tradition of the preceding meetings, two short courses are proposed:
Anne Estrade (Université Paris-Sud) - Geometry of Gaussian fields
Claudia Redenbach (TU Kaiserslautern) - Random tessellations
The short courses will take place on Monday June 17th and Tuesday June 18th.

Registration

Registration to the meeting is free of charge  but mandatory.
The registration deadline is on Sunday 26 May.

Venue

The exact address of the conference venue is Avignon Université, Campus Hannah Arendt, 84000 Avignon.
The conference will take place in the auditorium "Amphi AT06" of the South building ("bâtiment Sud").

Social activities

The gala dinner is free for all participants and will take place in the evening of Wednesday June 19th.

An aperitif is proposed in the afternoon of Thursday June 20th, right after the session in honor of Christian Lantuéjoul.

Financial support for young researchers

We can provide financial support for a limited number of young researchers (PhD, postdoc) in need of funding to cover expenses related to transport or accommodation. If you are interested, please contact the organizers.

Organizing team

This meeting is organized jointly by the Laboratoire de Mathématiques of Avignon University and by the BioSP lab of INRA Avignon, with Céline Lacaux as main coordinator.
